Sandberg Gamer Desk Pad XXXL review
Today I am reviewing the fourth part of Sandberg’s recently launched EsportsEquipment range, the Gamer Desk Pad XXXL. A large mouse mat designed with precision gaming in mind.
At 90X45cm this is one rather large mouse mat, not the largest, but still pretty big and far bigger than any other I have used, so big in fact that I used the large box this came in, to store one slightly smaller mat and a normal sized mat that I no longer have any use for. I currently have one keyboard and two mice sitting on this desk, I use an ergonomically friendly wireless mouse for normal browsing and the other mouse is a mouse I am in the process of reviewing. It’s black in colour and has a textured bottom to ensure it grips the surface well. A rather large Sandberg EsportsEquipment sits in the bottom left-hand corner and in all honesty if this weren’t there the mat would pretty much just a 100% boring to look at black plain mat. So I actually believe the logo is pretty much a major part of this design. I must admit I do wish it had a bit more to its overall design like a pattern or a different coloured edge instead of just the whole thing in black.
I also found that to make this mat fit properly one my desk, I had to remove my glass shelf as one of the legs was obstructing the mat, so I had two choices, either remove the shelf or have the mat overlapping the edge of the desk, I did try to have it overlapping but it got on my nerves, so I removed the shelf and now I have a large mouse mat properly sat on my desk. I have also have found that I have had to have things such as my monitor resting on the top lip and a few portable disc drives, but in all honesty, this is no major problem as there is just so much space here.
Do I regret having to lose my shelf in favour of the Gamer Desk Pad XXXL? The answer is No, in fact, I love this thing it makes my desk look so much neater and because it so much softer it’s a lot more comfortable for my elbows which usually end up resting against the hard surface of my desk. One thing I have noticed is that it does get dirty rather easily, which is a bit of a pain, but can be washed off when need be.
The main focus of this mouse mat is to provide as much precision as possible and I must say it’s great for providing precision, I don’t do a lot of PC gaming nowadays due to other commitments, but I still decided to give this a quick go on a game of COD. I found that no matter which mouse I used with it, it allowed the mouse to just glide easily with no rough patches, which allowed for perfect in game precision of the pointer. I also find it to be nice and soft to touch, which as I mentioned above makes it great for having my elbows rested on as I type.
A great gaming pad with a serious size. It provides brilliant precision and has a level of comfort I haven’t felt in any other mouse mat before. It truly is a blessing to my desk and has definitely earned the title as the best mouse mat I have ever used. Of course, I should be calling it by its official name as a mouse mat typically just holds a mouse, whereas this beauty is currently holding most of the contents of my PC desk with space left over.
