Audio Dynamix X05-UE2i review
Today I am reviewing the Audio Dynamix X05-UE2i Bluetooth Speaker. This is another speaker from the ADX line of speakers.

- Bluetooth range has been independently tested to 40 metres*
The X05-UE2i has one of the smartest designs I have seen from A Bluetooth speaker. Its design incorporates a gorgeous looking stainless steel body wrapped around the top, back and bottom of the speaker, whilst instead of the typical metal or plastic material used, there is a fabric style speaker grill wrapped around the front and sides of the speaker. Along the top of the speaker are the required ports for charging and using a cable for music playback as well as the buttons that are used to operate the speaker and its functions. The buttons are as follows.
- Power button
- Lower volume/Rewind track/Backtrack
- Call button/Play/Pause
- Raise volume/Fast forward track/Next track
There’s also a removable faux leather strap with the Audio Dynamix name carved into it and a small built-in microphone. At the base of the speaker are two small-sized rubber feet, that prevent the speaker from vibrating off of surfaces when in use. In terms of size, this is much slightly taller than the S-Wave I recently reviewed, but is also not as wide in both side to side and back to front aspects as the S-Wave.
Connecting this speaker to my smart phone via Bluetooth is a very easy job, it literally takes a few seconds and once done your phone will remember it and will automatically connect to the speaker. In terms of strength and reliability, this speaker is able to work up to 40 meters away from the Bluetooth audio device. I have actually managed to get great reception with this speaker within the 40 m radius, which means I have been able to use it in my dining room, whilst leaving my phone in my front room, I will say however that with a few walls and obstacles in the way, I did have the odd jump and skip in some tracks, however when used in the same room the speaker and phone worked great with no signal issues.
Having a built-in aux cable jack means that you don’t have to worry at all if your audio device lacks Bluetooth connectivity, as you can simply plug the device directly into the speaker using your own or the provided 3.5mm audio cable. The only major difference between using the cable and Bluetooth is that all buttons will not work when using an audio cable. For this reason, skipping tracks, rewinding etc.. all have to be done by the device plugged into the speaker.
The X05-UE2i has a built-in rechargeable 3000 mAh li-ion battery that’s capable of delivering up to twenty hours of play time from a single 7-hour charge. Whilst up to 20 hours is good, I do think the 6 to 7-hour charging time is a bit too much, as I’ve had speakers previously with the same play time but about 4 to 5 hours for charging time.
Anyway on to that 20 hours of play time, this is a pretty decent time, which is a good few music sessions before needing a re-charge, however this also does depend on a few factors such as volume level, this means that if you are using the speaker on a low-level, you should get roughly about 20 hours, which is what I got during a low volume test where I left the speaker running for almost a full day, while I slept and had it connected to my PC via 3.5 mm cable. I haven’t tested it at full volume but given my past experiences, I would say a good few hours will be knocked off of the total time.
In terms of sound, the X05-UE2i is brilliant. It produces clear sound and is distortion-free even at high volumes. It delivers excellent sound through both Bluetooth and AUX connections. Bass is also very much powerful and is made this way by a large 100mm Passive Bass radiator which sits on the underside of the speaker.
I will say however that on my kitchen surface at full volume it still moved across the surface despite the rubber feet, that are supposed to prevent this. This must be down to the size of the feet and this hasn’t ever happened before with other speakers.
The built-in microphone is great as well and during a test call, it did a fantastic job of picking up my voice clearly. I was told my the person I was speaking to that my voice was clear and easy to hear.

Overall: A fantastic portable speaker that has style and packs a punch that’s very similar to most of the more expensive portable speakers available today. The X05-UE2i is a worthy little speaker for anybody who doesn’t yet own a portable speaker.
DISCLAIMER: I received this for a discounted price in return for my honest and unbiased review. This has had no effect on my overall opinion of the product.
