Here I have the Apollo Evade MTB (Mens) bike from Halfords.

For £179.99 (Was £359.99) This is what your money will get you. I’ve already pulled 20 miles on this bike for commuting. It’s a comfortable ride, even without back suspension.

The Bike itself weighs 16.1Kg (Taken from the Halfords website). For the rear gears, It uses Shimano Tourney. The gears seem responsive and has de-chained twice on me. Hopefully this can be rectified in the 6 weeks free servicing that’s also provided by Halfords after purchasing a new bike from them. Another plus side is that it used Disc Brakes which are a lot better than V-Brakes in wet weather.

Tyres are good for what they are, even after 20 miles they still look brand new.

The seat I have to admit is not the best, you may need to invest in a gel seat add-on. If you need a MTB bike quickly and on a budget, than this could be the right bike for you.

I will do a follow-up review on this bike in a few weeks. — The follow up review can be found here
